- Begin

- Ch 3

- Sl st
to top of starting ch-3 to join. (16 dc total)
- Fasten
off and change color if desired.
Round 2: Puff Stitch Petals
- Join a new color in any dc.
- Ch 2
(counts as partial puff), make a 4-yarn-over puff stitch in same
st.
- Ch 1
to close puff. Repeat puff, ch 1 in each dc around.
- Sl st
to the top of the first puff to join. (16 puff stitches)
- Fasten
off and change color.
Round 3: Cluster Round
- Join a new color in any ch-1 space.
- Ch 3
(counts as 1 dc), then 2 dc into same space.
- In
each ch-1 space around, work 3 dc.
- Sl st
to top of first ch-3. (48 dc: 16 clusters of 3 dc)
- Fasten
off and change color.
Round 4: Squaring the Circle
Time to turn that sunburst into a square!
- Join a new color in the space between any 3-dc cluster.
- Ch 3
(counts as dc), 2 tr in same space.
- Ch 2, and work 3tr in the same space.
- In the next three spaces, make 3dc.
- In the corner space, make 3 tr, 3 ch, 3 tr
- Repeat
3 dc in next 3 spaces, 3tr, ch2, 3tr corner around.
- Sl st
to top of starting ch-3.
You should now have a
neat sunflower granny square with 4 corners and even edges.
