- Yarn: 100% cotton yarn ( You will need 4 skeins)
- Hook:
5.0 mm (or whatever hook size that is suitable for your yarn.
- Scissors
- Yarn needle (for weaving in ends.
- Optional:
Stitch markers. These are helpful for beginners.

Ch Chain
Dc Double Crochet

Making The Granny Square Pattern:
- Make
a magic ring, or chain 4 and join with a slip stitch to form a loop.
- Round
1: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 2 dc into the ring, ch 3, 3 dc into the
ring, ch 3 — repeat 3 times. Join with a slip stitch to the top of
ch-3.
- Round
2:
Sl st over to the next two stitches and the corner space. Ch 3,(counts as 1
dc) 2 dc in space, ch 3, 2 dc in same space. Make a dc into each st across
until the corner sp, 2 dc in the ch-3 space, ch 3, 2 dc in the same space — repeat around 2 more times 2dc,ch3, 3dc. Ch1, and sl st into the top
of the 3rd ch
- Round
3:
Sl st over to the next two stitches and the corner space. Ch 3,(counts as 1
dc) 2 dc in space, ch 3, 2 dc in same space. Make a dc into each st across
until the corner sp, 2 dc in the ch-3 space, ch 3, 2 dc in the same space. Repeat 2 more times 2dc,ch3, 3dc. Ch1, and sl st into the top

- Continue
the pattern for rows 5-16
Connecting the shoulders
Place both panels together with the wrong side facing up. Use
a yarn needle and start at the corner space. Weave the yarn in the outer
stitch of both panels. Continue until you get to the opening of the neckline.
Continue with the other side.
Seaming the sides
Place both panels together with the wrong side facing up. Use
a yarn needle and start at the bottom corner space. Weave the yarn in the outer stitch of both panels. Continue until you get to the opening of the armhole.
Fasten off and continue with the other side. When you are finished, weave in all
the yarn ends.
