Row 2: Ch 3, 3dc into the 2 chain space from the previous row, * In the next 2 chain space and add 3dc into the 2 chain space*, repeat from * across the row ending with a dc in the top of the ch 3 turning chain from the end of the previous row. Turn yarn.

Row 3: Ch 2, [sc, ch2, sc] into the 3rd stitch (the center double crochet from the previous row), *skip the next 2 stitches, and in the 3rd stitch (the center double crochet) [sc, ch2, sc]*, repeat from * across the row, ending with a hdc in the last stitch. Turn yarn.
