How To Crochet The Almond Stitch: Step-by-Step
The almond stitch is a beautiful and textured crochet
pattern that creates a lovely, raised, and intricate design. Perfect for
blankets, scarves, and other projects, the almond stitch is a great choice for
crocheters looking to add a unique touch to their creations. In this blog post,
I will guide you through how to crochet the almond stitch from start to finish!
What is the almond stitch?
The Almond Stitch is a beautiful stitch that contains textured and delicate ridges. It is an easy stitch that requires that you know only two crochet stitches, the half double crochet, and the slip stitch
I love working with this stitch. The almond stitch is easy to remember because it is a four-row repeat. In the second row, you will make four slip stitches and half double crochet stitches that only work in the back loops.
Abbreviations used

The Almond Stitch:
This stitch is worked in rows in this tutorial.
To begin, make a slip knot and insert it into your hook. Chain your desired number of chains. You must create a multiple of eight stitches for this stitch pattern and then add five for your starting chain. In the video, I chained 21.
Row 1 Slip stitch in the second chain from your hook and in the next three stitches. *Half double crochet in the next four stitches, slip stitch in each of the next four stitches. Repeat from * across. Chain one and turn your work.
Row Two: Working in the back loop only all the way across, slip stitch in the first four stitches, *half double crochet in the next four stitches, slip stitch in each of the next four stitches. Repeat from * across. Chain one and turn yarn
Rows Three and Four: Working in the back loop only all the way across, Half double crochet in each of the first four stitches, *slip stitch in each of the next four stitches, half double crochet in each of the next four stitches. Repeat from * across. Chain one and turn yarn
Row Five:
Working in the back loop only across, slip stitch in each of the first four stitches, *half double crochet in each of the next four stitches, slip stitch in each of the next four stitches. Repeat from * across. Chain one and turn your work.
And you are finished!
For the rest of the pattern, repeat rows two to five for the pattern. Fasten off and weave in your yarn ends.
